Four days from now, you turn two, and today we had your 2 year well visit at the doctor's office. I knew you'd be getting a shot, but I didn't realize or remember that you would also be getting a finger prick. This stresses me out, mostly because big sis knows how to put on an award worthy performance whenever she's going to be getting either of those things.
But you? You're as cool as a cucumber. The nurse who drew blood from your finger practically squealed with delight at how calm you were. You barely flinched when you got the shot, and again, the nurse was elated. I'm sure that's not the norm, but there's not much about you that's ordinary as far as this momma is concerned. (I'm not biased at all!)
We found out that you're still a giant as far as 2 year olds are concerned. Your weight and height remain between the 90th and 95th percentiles at 31 lbs and 35.5 inches. You're mostly wearing a size 3T, but in shirts, you're better off in a 4T because like your sister and Daddy, you have a long torso. They checked your vision, which is perfect.
We also had to fill out a crazy long survey a few days ahead of the appointment, and it determined that you're "at expectation" for gross and fine motor skills and "above the cut off" for verbal communication, social-emotional factors, and problem solving. I wish Nanny was here so I could share this information with her. She would be gushing. You'd be a genius as far as she is concerned.
We did find out that you still have a double ear infection, which hurt my heart a little. We just finished up a 10 day round of amoxicillin a week or so ago, but I should have known that something wasn't quite right because your sleep changed for the worse and your nose has still been really crusty. Mom guilt is a real thing, Tilly, but I'm doing the best I can.
So, all that to say that you are amazing and perfect in every way. I'm so blessed that you're my daughter and thankful that I get to be your mommy.
I can't believe that in a few short days my beautiful last baby will be TWO instead of one. <3
